Boaters can take advantage of free lockage on October 22 from noon-6 p.m. at three of the locks on the Fox River system. Locks at DePere, Little Kaukauna and Little Chute (called the Cedars Lock) will provide free lockage for boaters and pedestrians who want ot use the locks to view the fall colors from the Fox River. In addition, pedestrians have access to locks located in DePere, Little Chute, Menasha and Appleton locks 2 & 3 to view fall colors.
“The most beautiful views of the foliage are right from the Fox River,” said Bob Stark, CEO of the Fox River Navigational System Authority (FRNSA). “We want boaters and pedestrians to see the breathtaking scenery from the locks, so we’ll waive fees for this one day to encourage more people to use the locks.”
Navigation on the full system ended October 2, but boaters can get their last look at the Fox River ablaze with color on this one afternoon! For more information, please contact us during office hours at 920.759.9833 or fill out the contact form on our website.
